As the founding attorney of The Hartley Law Firm, Alec brings a deep commitment to justice and a strong foundation of legal experience to every client matter. Alec is proud to serve the people of Kansas City with the same dedication and integrity that has defined his legal career from the start.

Alec earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri (Mizzou), and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law (UMKC). Driven by a passion for advocacy and a desire to make a difference, Alec began his legal career as a Public Defender in the Kansas City Trial Office, located in the heart of downtown Kansas City. There, Alec gained extensive courtroom experience and developed a passion for serving the people of this great community here in Kansas City.

Today, Alec applies that same client-first approach to private practice, offering personalized, strategic legal representation grounded in real-world experience and a deep understanding of the legal system.
